BLACK OAK ARKANSAS: LA STORIA DEL ROCK

Band di stile rock tipico suddista nato nel 1964, all’inizio si facevano chiamare i Knowbody Else. Le traversie dei primi anni porta il gruppo ad avere anche qualche problema con la giustizia, a causa della mancanza di soldi per trovare gli strumenti. Nel 1969 hanno il primo contratto con la Stax di new Orleans, senza nessun successo. L’anno dopo si trasferiscono a Los Angeles e prendono il nome di Black Oak Arkansas. Iniziano incessanti tour e cominciano a riscuotere qualche successo. Con il passare degli anni si avvicendano parecchi strumentisti in sessionman e cambi di formazione, nel 1980 Jim Dandy viene colpito da infarto e di conseguenza si ritira dalle scene musicali. La band per un paio d’anni non pubblica niente, nel 1984 il leader Reynolds riaccende la voglia di suonare con altri strumentisit tra cui Johnny Bolin fratello di Tommy.
