JOHN LEE HOOKER: LA STORIA DEL ROCK

Genio fondamentale del blues e rock, inizia ain da bambino influenzato dal patrigno William Moore che lo porta con se agli spettacoli musicali. Sin dagli anni ’30 incomincia ad esibirsi nei locali di Menphis, poi si trasferisce a Cincinnat, partecipa in gruppi gospel. nel 1948 ottiene il suo primo successo con Boogie Chillen, rivelando uno stiletutto suo, un ritmo boogie-blues con chitarra e battito del piede. La fama si consolida con il passare degli anni e spesso viene accompagnato da altri blusmen in jamsession. Lo ricordiamo nella apparizione di un film cult ” The Blues Brothers”. Molti nomi illustri hanno suonato con lui, Stev Miller, Van Morrison,Carlos Santana,Keith Richard e Jimmi Vaughan. Nel 21 giugno del 2001, John muore nel sonno nella sua casa di San Francisco. Un grande mito e legenda del rock.
